How to Choose the Right Ring Size?
  • You can also measure the ring by cutting a strip of paper approximately 5 mm wide and 100 mm (10cm) long, wrapping it around your finger, glueing it together and cutting off the extra paper. After you have your paper ring, check if you can take it off and put it on (some fingers have wider knuckles so you need to consider that), and if everything’s fine, cut the paper ring at the seam, flatten out the strip and measure its length. The result will be the circumference of the ring, and you can translate it into a ring size with the help of the size chart.
If you want to order a ring as a surprise for someone and you need to find out their size, the best way is to borrow a ring from them that you know fits them well (and specifically fits the finger you want them to wear your gift on) and bring it to any jewelry shop for measuring.

The other methods are less accurate, but I will still name a couple that helped my customers over the years.
  • If you already have a ring that fits you (or the person you’re buying the ring for) well then you can put it on top of a ruler (important - measure in millimeters, not inches) and see how many millimeters you have between the inner sides of the ring. The diameter in millimeters will be your size. For that purpose the ring needs to be regular round shape and not too chunky, otherwise the calculations won’t be too precise.
Finding out your correct finger size when ordering a ring is crucial.
  • If you are ordering a ring for yourself, my best advice is to go to any jewelry store and ask them to measure your finger - they will do it for free.
  • Or you can shop online for a ring sizer (see here on the illustration) - a bunch of cheap metal or plastic rings with size marked on each. Then you will be able to measure not just your fingers, but also the fingers of all your friends and loved ones and always gift them rings in the correct size:)
