HOW TO MAKE A CUSTOM ORDER?

My jewelry practice is divided into 2 general parts: I create things because I want to (“Projects”) and I create things because others want me to (“Custom orders”).

What is a custom order? It’s a piece of jewelry that I design and make from scratch specifically for you. No one else will have it – I will only make one copy, and it will be yours.

What is NOT a custom order? If you want me to re-make you something I already did earlier, but with a customization (different writing, different color, different size) – then it’s not a custom order and it will take me less time to make it, and the price will be lower. If you want me to re-make different artist’s work – then it’s not a custom order and I will not do it because it’s not fair to other artists. If you want me to re-make an earring instead of the one you’ve lost, then it’s not a custom order and I will not do it, unless the original earring was made by me.

What can it be made of? Basically anything. Gold, silver, brass, wood, ready-made objects, gemstones etc. I can use your materials, if you’d like. For example, here I used customer’s own tooth.

What do you need to know to design a unique piece for me (or for someone as a gift)? To make an order, you have to prepare a desciprion of what you (or the person the piece will be given to) like, you can also make a moodboard on Pinterest or a similar service, adding there all sorts of things – architecture, paintings, clothes etc. I need to feel the vibe! Example of how the decription can be phrased: “I want you to design a ring for my friend. She’s a bit of a tomboy, dyes her hair red, loves climbing roofs of abandoned buildings, loves city at night, museums of torture, loves painting on walls, loves cats, Saint-Petersburg and to make her characters suffer – she’s been writing this story about a boy with eyes of different color and a scar instead of a smile”. (That’s an actual description from a customer, here’s the ring that I made for her).

How much will it cost? It depends on your order, materials used, complexity etc. The minimum price I take for making a custom order (without the cost of the materials) is 300$. So it can be 300$ (if it’s not very complicated in the making and you provide your own material) or it can be more.

How long will it take? I take 1, maximum 2 orders a month. After you contact me, I will let you know when I have the next opening for an order. If the timeframe I suggest will suit you, then after the start of the process it will take me approximately 1 month until your order is completed and is ready to be shipped. So if you’re on a deadline, think ahead!

Anything else I need to know? I will always offer 10% discount for engagement and wedding rings for same-sex couples, so don’t forget to mention it in your order if it’s relevant. Also, if you are Gillian Anderson, Tilda Swinton, Taika Waititi or Stephen Fry your order is automatically moved to the top of the line and becomes my first priority!:)
